Male Thigh Lift

Thigh, hip and buttock lifting are surgical procedures performed to tighten the skin of the outer thighs, buttocks, and hips. The operation removes areas of skin and fat from the upper buttock and flank areas. The remaining skin and soft tissues are reconstructed to achieve a tightening and smoothing effect. The operation is designed to help patients with loose, flabby skin that may occur from massive weight loss, weight loss following gastric banding or gastric bypass surgery, natural aging or as a result of heredity. The patient’s concerns are carefully addressed and a history and physical examination are performed. The operation generally lasts from 1 ½ to 3 hours and is performed under a light general anesthesia. The procedure is very individualized and often includes liposuction to achieve the desired results. Scars vary in position and length in order to achieve the specific desires of each patient. A compression garment is worn postoperatively for 4 to 6 weeks. Pain is mild to moderate in nature and usually well controlled with oral medication. Patients are generally asked to rest for 3 to 4 weeks before resuming normal activities.
